WHY CABO?

WHY CABO?

If you are looking for a winter destination for vacation, retirement or a second home, try Cabo.  You ask yourself Why Cabo?  This is why.

Cabo San Lucas is considered, by many, to have the perfect climate.  Plan a picnic most any day because Cabo San Lucas enjoys more than 300 sunny days a year and average temperatures of 82 degrees Fahrenheit.  During summer months, the temperature can reach into the 90s but low humidity and ocean breezes keep things comfortable.

One can generally count on a dry and sunny climate in Cabo San Lucas throughout the year.  However, conditions may vary depending on location, time of day and nearness to the ocean.  On the Pacific Ocean side of Los Cabos you will generally find temperatures 10 degrees cooler than downtown Cabo San Lucas and the marina area

San Jose del Cabo on the Sea of Cortez, just 26 miles from Cabo San Lucas, on the tip of Baja California Sur, is often several degrees warmer.

Spring is the driest season with little or no rain from March through June.  Winter blends gradually into spring and thus into summer.  One of the best times in Cabo can be the months of May and June and first part of July.  These months are sometimes known as the Secret Season in Cabo.

The idea of Cabo San Lucas attracts you but there is hesitation because of all the horror stories you are hearing about Mexico.  What you are reading about is happening in Cd. Juarez, Tijuana and Nogales.  The violence is in the border towns not in the resort areas like Cabo San Lucas.  There may be no place safer on earth than Los Cabos.

When you look at the statistics and not the hype you realize that Cabo San Lucas may be truly the place you want to vacation or retire to.

In a recent article published my Christopher Reynolds of the L.A. Times, drug related killings for all of the state Baja California Sur, not just Los Cabos, reached a big 6 for the entire first half of 2010.  That figure breaks down to 1.06 per 100,000 inhabitants.

That sounds like a lot, you say.  But just compare it to the statistics from the countries considered the safest around the world.

Canada = 1.7 per 100,000

Peru= 3.2 per 100,000

Argentina = 5.2 per 100,000

USA = 5.2 per 100,000

Uruguay = 5.8 per 100,000

Chile = 8.1 per 100,000

And the rest of the world just gets worse.

Yes, Cabo is where you want to talk to Los Cabos Real Estate about guaranteeing your place in this safe environment with the perfect climate.

The door will open on your airplane and you will prepare to descend the steps to the tarmac when you arrive in Los Cabos.  You step out the door and stop.  The sweet soft air of Cabo engulfs you.  Is it the smell of cactus blooming?  Is it the lack of any pollution?   No matter, you know you have arrived in this paradise we call Los Cabos.
