Meet Cabo Locals - Coleen Fagan

I recently had the opportunity to intereview a local Cabo resident and owner of the company Baja Weddings.  I thought to share with you some of our interview.  Make sure to check out Coleen's website www.bajawedding.com especially if you are looking to plan a wedding in Cabo!

Q: How long have you been in Cabo?

A: We have lived in Cabo full time for 16 years.

Q: What brought you to Cabo originally?

A: We originally came to Los Cabos to retire but failed at retirement.   We visited Cabo many times before moving here and loved the weather and the people, the total ambiance of Los Cabos.  It is a different country yet close should we feel an urge to return home to the U.S.

Q: What do you do in Cabo for a living?

A: We have a wedding design and on site wedding coordination business.

Q: What is it that attracted you to Cabo?
A: Weather, the country and the friendly people in general.

Q: Any advice for people looking to work here in Cabo?
A: Plan on having enough to live on for 6 month to a year if you plan on working.  Jobs for foreigners are limited, mostly to sales positions.  As with any commissioned sales position it will take a while to get yourself established financially so be sure you have enough money to sustain until you have an income you can count.

Q: How is Cabo different now compared to when you first moved to Cabo?
A: Oh Geez . . a world of difference, when we first moved here it was similiar to shopping in Europe, with grocery products found only at local mom and pop stores' this place for meats, another place for fresh fruits and vegetables, another place for staples and if one place did not have what you were looking for then you searched another store.  Then came Soriana, followed by CCC and Costco.  We did not have Office Depot, Office Max or Home Depot.  Many times we would take a weekend trip to La Paz to get needed food and home items.  Now we have all the modern conveniences.
