Jesse Ventura in Cabo Next Week
Wrestler, actor, Vietnam veteran, politician… it’s hard to pin down Jesse Ventura with one label. But there is something certain about him--he has signed up for the 4th Annual Paws ‘n Claws Open 9-Hole Scramble Tournament and Dinner, held at the Cabo del Sol golf resort on Sunday, April 5th, to benefit the Humane Society of Cabo San Lucas.
Ventura, a former Minnesota governor, will team with his wife Terry and their dog Vico, a Belgian Malinois, to help raise funds for the rescue group’s mission to “create a community free of unwanted stray and diseased animals.”
At each hole, volunteers and dogs from the group’s animal center will cheer on the golfers.
Participants may buy into the “Jesse Jackpot” for a chance to partner with Ventura and his foursome on the golf course.
Mrs. Ventura and Vico plan to mingle with guests at the open-bar cocktail hour. Next there’s a dinner buffet, a live auction of items such as luxury spa stays, and the opportunity to apply for adoption of the available dogs and cats cared for by the rescue group.
It’s not too late for San Diegans to plan a getaway to Baja next weekend and enjoy some sun, sea, and time on the course, while contributing to a worthy cause and rubbing shoulders with Jesse--carefully, of course, since he has some of the biggest shoulders around..jpg)
Tickets for 9-Hole Scramble, Cocktails and Dinner are $325.
Tickets for Cocktails and Dinner are $125, and include a free Cabo del Sol Sunday brunch.
